All of my life, I have done my best to stand for a few things. Chief of all is respect for Almighty God, [audience: amen!] and all that He enjoins upon us with His will. But among them has been respect for the Constitution of the United States. And I want to tell you: I would not stand anywhere where my standing there could be construed in a way that undercut or damaged the Constitution of this country, on which I believe our liberties depend.

But there's something I don't understand. This is my ignorance. Because I've thought about it, I've read a fair amount about the Constitution and laws, and so forth and so on. Would somebody point out to me the law that this judge is basing his decision on? Because if I'm breaking the law, or if Judge Moore's breaking the law, I'd like to know which law it is. I'd like to know who passed it, I'd like to know where it's written! [cheering, applause]

They tell me that if, somehow or another, I don't respect this doctrine of the "separation of church and state," I am disrespecting the Constitution. I sat down again the other day. I scoured the document--it's not very long, by the way. You could get through it in a fairly short time. That was the brilliance of our Founders. It didn't take them a hundred thousand pages. It's not like the treaty that established the World Trade Organization, which ten thousand people couldn't get through in ten thousand years. No. You could sit down and read the Constitution in a short session. I scoured it. I looked through it once, I looked through it twice. I looked through it a dozen times. I didn't find a single mention of this "separation!" [cheering, applause]

Where?! Where, I ask them, is the law that is being broken? Where is the Constitutional provision that is being defied?

I'll tell you where it is. It's right there in front of our eyes. We were reminded of it again today. We ought to look at it and think it through, word by careful word, as our Founders did: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion." Now hold on, hold on. Before we jump to conclusions here, I want to point out that those words don't, by the way, simply forbid Congress to establish a religion. That's not what they say. And the liberals, all these people always act like "establishment is forbidden." No. That's not what's forbidden. It is forbidden for Congress to touch this question! It is forbidden for Congress to address it! It is forbidden for Congress to deal with it! [cheering, applause]

And I'll stand here right now. I'll ask with Howie Philips. I'll ask with every constitutionist of conscience. If Congress is forbidden to make a law, how can this judge be enforcing a law they cannot make?

But we need to continue, though: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise . . . " Now, I want to stop there because, you know, I'm middle-aged now, and I gotta tell you. When you're young, it's bad enough. As you get a little older, this business of exercise becomes a real challenge. It has been for me. I still have a son young enough that I've got to be encouraging him to get his body ready for high school, and get out there and run and work. And you've got to lead by example, so exercise has been much on my mind.

One thing I've noticed about it: as much as I wish it were not so, simply sitting back in my Lazy Boy thinking about it doesn't help. Having a firm opinion about it, believing deeply in exercise with all my being, that doesn't make my body stronger. No. Last time I looked, exercise means that you've got to get up out of the chair and act on what's in your heart. You've got to live it out in what you do, in what you say, in how you act, in how you govern your life!

All those liberals in this country have tried to put us in a box, where freedom of religion means the freedom to believe as you chose. No! The free exercise of religion means that we have the right in our families, and in our schools, and in our communities, and in our governments, and in our states to live according to the word of God! [cheering, applause]

Now, again, see. There are going to be those folks--they would like to accuse of me: "Well, that's Alan. You don't get to impose your views on it. That's your view," and such. No, it's not. This is what I don't understand also, because for most of our country's history, it not only never occurred to judges and courts that folks didn't have the right to read the Bible at the workplace, teach it in the schools, respect the law of God in their lives. It was so far from occurring to them that they acknowledged it as one of the foundations of our life and freedom. And in many decisions, including decisions by the Supreme Court on polygamy and so forth, it was explicitly cited as one of the bases for our understanding of law.

It's also true that this free exercise of religion was very deeply important to the people who founded the country. Why do you think a lot of the first colonies were founded--Massachusetts and other places like this? People who were fleeing from war and tyranny and persecution came here.

Now, what kind of persecution was it? It wasn't just the persecution, "I'm going to throw you to the lions if you don't believe what I believe." No. What they were doing in Europe in those days, on one side and the other, was looking at folks and saying, "I'm the sovereign. I'm the national power. And in your cities and in your provinces, you must act according to my religious beliefs." And there were cities, and there were towns, and there were provinces, and there were states that stood up and said no--and they fought, and the blood ran red for their right to live in communities that were governed by laws that reflected their faith! [cheering, applause]

If nothing else today, I think all of us who are here, and all of those of Christian faith and belief and conscience, and all of those who stand on a ground of biblical tradition, all of those who believe that we cannot live without the law and rule of that God we invoked when we claimed our rights--all of us must stand and make clear, to the courts, and to the Congress, and to the president, and to every power that be, that we remember now what our freedom of religion is supposed to be! [cheering, applause] And that we shall demand against every coercion that we be granted again what the tyranny of the courts have sought to wrest from us: the freedom to live in communities that are governed by laws that reflect our beliefs. [applause]

Now, see, our Founders were wise, though. They looked at the terrible wars that had taken place in Europe, and they didn't want it to happen here. And they realized, at the root of those conflicts had been the effort of national sovereigns and overall sovereigns to impose their religious belief and practices on people and states and provinces and localities beneath their civil administration. So what did they do? They put an amendment in the Constitution with the wording we've talked about. Wording intended to tell the Congress and thereby the national government that the whole business of religious belief, that whole business of any regime, any attitude to be imparted through law, that it was none of the federal government's business.

Now, that still gives rise to the possibility. Some folks don't want to see it. There might be states in which they require a religious test or oath of office. There might be states in which they have established churches, where subventions are given to schools and so forth to teach the Bible. There might be places where you and I might disagree with the religion some folks wanted to put in place over their communities. But guess what the Founders believed? They believed that people in their states and localities had the right to live under institutions they would put together to govern themselves according to their faith.

There is, I believe, going on right now a violation of the Constitution. There is, I believe, a lawless act against which we must stand. But it is the lawless act of the federal judges who seek now to wrest from us that liberty which is ours--not by right of the Constitution, but by grant and right of the Creator, God. [cheering, applause]

We have the right to live in communities--and that means the people in Alabama can live in this state. And you know how come I know that this is so, that the First Amendment didn't intend to destroy this right, that in fact such communities could exist, such states could exist? Because at the time the First Amendment was passed, at the time they put it on the books in the first place, there were a majority of states in the United States--at the time, the former colonies--where there were religious tests and oaths of office, where there were, in fact, established churches.

How do they mean to tell us that the people who wrote the amendment then went back on to live in contradiction of its terms? This is a lie! And it's time we threw this lie back into their teeth! [applause]

And I want to answer right now. No, I want to answer one objection from them: "Well, Alan, that means you believe in religious persecution," and all this. No, I don't. Quite the contrary. But I think that what we are faced with now is an effort to set the stage for religious persecution. See? These folks claim that they are acting in order to oppose, somehow, the imposition of religious views--but no. What they are doing in the courts, what these judges are doing when they toss out the Ten Commandments, toss out and against the will of people in the states and in communities their desire to show their reverence for Almighty God, what they are doing is imposing a uniform national regime of disbelief and atheism on the people of this country! They are doing exactly what the Constitution of the United States forbids. [applause]

It could be, now--and here, again, this is where I am overcome by my apparent lack of knowledge. [laughter] Because, folks want to tell me, as well, that if the judge violates the Constitution, and then in the decision wrests my rights away, then I have no recourse--Moore has no recourse, the people of Alabama have no recourse. We've just gotta sit back and take it. [audience: no!]

And I'm hard-pressed. See, I look at the history of the country, and I'm scouring the pages to see where it says that that's so--and what do I stumble across but a Declaration of Independence that says, when, by along train abuses, they evince the pattern that is going to destroy our rights, the Founders said that it is not only our right, it is our duty to oppose them! That's what I see. [applause]

And I couldn't stand here today. I couldn't stand here today in this spot which is so important to the history of our country, where, indeed, as I was reminded earlier today, the very dissolution of America over the issue of slavery took place. This city, where so many hearts dedicated to the liberty of people, joined together in order to begin that civil rights movement that would result in the end of a regime of oppression for people of my racial background.

I couldn't stand here today, except I remembered that there was a time when the majority and the law enslaved my people, and there were people of conscience who stood against that slavery, though it meant that they defy those laws!

There was a time when law segregated Americans into black and white and forced some into a situation of oppression--and it would be the same today, if some had not had the courage to stand against those unjust laws! [applause]

We stand here today in a great tradition. Not as our lying critics would have it--in the tradition of those who defied the courts in order to oppress and destroy the rights of their fellow human beings--but in the tradition of those who stood against unjust laws in order to stand for the rights of all our people! This is where we stand! [applause]

But even as it was the case, that those who stood against slavery and for civil rights had stood in fact on the solid ground of American truth and constitutional freedom, so it is today. And I think we have to be clear. The fact that some people were wrong when they invoked the rights of the people in their states in the name of institutions that trampled on the rights of individuals does not mean that it is right today to stand silent while the rights of the people of this state of Alabama are trampled by a tyrannical and arbitrary judge.

If we can act aright, if we can act with knowledge and precision, if we can act with care and courage as we defend our liberty in this place, then it could be here today that finally we draw the line against those who seek to abuse the color of law in order to destroy the substance of liberty! [applause]

I'm glad that I see all of you here today. I know that you represent many, many millions more around this country. And I do want to address the work. Because some people say, "Well, what if this happens? What if that happens? What if they come and try to take down the Ten Commandments? What if it goes to the Supreme Court, and they decide differently--what then?" And everybody seems to think we've just got to sit back.

First of all, there is a person in this country who could solve this problem. Fairly easily. I remembered that when I was running for president a long time ago. [laughter] People used to ask me questions about this. Some people think that the pardoning power in the Constitution is a--well, just imagine we wake up tomorrow, and George Bush, having read about this as President of the United States, says, "OK. The judge says, Judge Moore, that you have been breaking the law. I'm sending you this, and let it be known to everybody in the country that I pardon you now for this offense, and I pardon all people in their states of all such offenses, because I believe that they are acting according to their Constitutional right." [cheering, applause]

The president could solve this problem with a word, in the proper exercise of his Constitutional authority, in defense of our Constitutional rights. So might the Congress, by cutting off the funds to enforce it, as some have introduced into the Congress. By, as Howard said, disestablishing the courts that dare to assault the rights of the people in their most fundamental guise.

All these are possible courses of action, but what they should remind us of is that we live in a constitution in which no branch was supposed to be the absolute tyrant over the others. Not the courts over the Congress and the presidency. Not the president over the others. If the president decides that the courts are wrong, it is up to the Congress to stand against it, and if they stand with him, then the Constitution has been served. [applause]

We have three branches of government. And I stand here today in hope that all Americans will stand to call on the president and call on the Congress to take courageous action finally to put the bridle on these unruly courts! [cheering, applause]

We can! We can make the difference, for we know that what is at stake is not just the symbolic display of the Ten Commandments. It is the reverence that we must hold for them in our hearts if we are to fulfill this nation's promise of true self-government. For, self-government in the end cannot come from the external impositions of law and police forces and military forces. True self-government begins where our Founders knew it began, where our Lord knew it began. True self-government begins in the heart. And it is the heart of a people governed by respect for the Ten Commandments and the word of God writ upon their hearts--it is the heart of such a people that fits them for a freedom that will endure.

God bless you.

Here We Go Again

More Left wing hatred of America, historical revisionism, and indocrination of our children. Today, the Left is pushing the idea of a "Living Constitution". One that can "change with the times", and change our nation's values too. No thanks. I want a dead constitution. One that has meaning, and is constant. Unlike the Left, I believe in right and wrong. And what is right and wrong is not subject to perspective or to interpretation. Right and wrong was decided long ago, about the time of the Big Bang as far as I can tell. No matter how much the Left wants to change that, it just isn't going to happen.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks to David Adams for steering me into this subject today!

Savage Brau

Yuck. The D-Backs just lost yet again. It is cloudy/stormy outside. Something I am not used to here in the desert. I am listening to some classic jazz, a slow bluesy tune. Work is extremely stressful. And to top it off, I was called a name I revile today.

In my daily political discussions with people, I am reminded why I left direct involvement in the political workings of my community and state and nation. Recently, while in a discussion regarding the Pentagon's idea of developing a stock market-like futures trading program to elicit useful information on possible future attacks, I found myself being referred to as a racist. Now, while the person flinging it did not specifically mean to label me as such, it did remind me of the ruthlessness and the hopelessness of that most important debate of our time: Left vs. Right.

The debate is needed. The debate is good. But the debate cannot be won.

I left the Republican Party and dissociated myself from "competitive" politics back in 1996. Having been involved in the Party and in political campaigns (Precinct Captain, County Chairman, Co-Chair of a Presidential candidacy at the county level, campaign treasurer, Housing Commissioner and even a lobbyist at one time) I have been in those trenches, seen the gamesmanship, all the things people love to hate about politics. And you know what I learned? I don't like it. I don't even understand much of it. Are individuals on the Left really trying to take America down, or are they just blind to the longer term implications of their ideals? I really don't know. I think it is both.

Unfortunately, today the debate is more important than ever before. The Left is going full throttle for our nation. And they are winning. Doubt it? Just look around you. Everyday we are reminded of it. Our borders are under attack, our language and culture too. Savage is right.

My own belief is that that most vile of politicos, Hillary Clinton, WILL be President, in 2008 if not in 2004.

If you care at all about our nation, our culture, our heritage, JOIN the debate, speak out. Those who wish you harm are. And unless you speak out and encourage others to do so also, we will not recognize our nation. Our Constitution will be rendered even more meaningless than it has become. Our individual rights will be further chisleled away.

Today, the fight is no longer limited to the campaigns, courts and legislative arenas. It is in our homes and among our families. It is here that it must be fought, IF it is to be fought at all. That is my nightmare scenario. We give up without a fight. We shed our principles in order to be kept from being tabbed racist, or mean spirited, or anti-Multi-cultural, or homophobic, or whatever the newest hate-phrase is the Left comes up with.

No wonder I am blue.

Quote of the Week

....
This little gem comes from Matthew Miller of the Philadelphia Enquirer:

"There are much truer ways to attack Bush." Stuck in the foggy mindset of the 60's, and nostalgic for the Vietnam War days, they are going back to the old tried and true tactics of those times.

Here is a good synopsis of the 5 main points being made by the Left today and why they are not valid.

Meanwhile, back in the the USA, we see that Michael Savage has a new career in mind.
I LOVE his platform: Based upon the Golden Rule of the Paul Revere Society of Borders, Language and Culture, Dr. Savage is threatening to run this fall in California's emergency election to eliminate a socialist in the Governor's mansion who has single handedly destroyed the 7th largest economy on the planet.

Well, gotta go to work, car-pooling don't ya know. We want the Supreme Court to go back and fix its mistakes. We want the federal government to get out of the business of regulating political speech. We want Americans to make more of their own decisions, keep more of their own money, etc. We're even willing to say that not all of our changes will have only positive effects, unlike many on the left who suffer from the sort of cognitive closure and blindness to ambiguity which forces them to believe that only good things happen when good things are done.

And that brings us to the fundamental problem, identified most famously by Samuel Huntington in his 1957 essay "Conservatism as an Ideology." Conservatism in much of the world is situational. A conservative in Saudi Arabia or Russia wants to conserve something very different from what a conservative in America wants to conserve. A Saudi conservative wants to maintain State control of the economy, scoffs at civil liberties and wants to spread Wahhabbi Islam around the globe. Meanwhile, in America it's true that conservatives want to defend traditional arrangements but our traditional arrangements are defined by classically liberal institutions. This is why Hayek admired American conservatives even though he distrusted European ones — because American conservatives are determined to defend the institutions which keep us free. American liberals are determined to protect the "advances" they believe keep us "progressive.""

Finally!

Goodbye LOSERS.

Lucy! The bodies of 400 Kurdish women and children found in a shallow mass grave. More of the 300,000 Iraqi's the UN and others suspect Saddam of killing.

Let me ask you this: why is it so important that 100% of our intel be correct in order to have justified this war? Those who espouse that line of thinking are either racist against Iraqi people or are just plain idiots. Those on the Left will counter this by saying "What about Liberia, or any number of other African and Asian nations killing their own people? Why aren't we going there?"

Two reasons. First Liberia isn't threatening us with nuclear weapons or other WMD's, and secondly, we WILL get to all those that are evil throughout the world. Be patient. We have limited means, despite our unlimited passion for freedom and prosperity for all. The only thing that will slow us down is the American Left itself, when they are in office by continuing to degrade and debase our society; and when they are not in office by manipulating the useful idiots in the media to make mountains out of molehills, like the Nigerian plutonium issue.

Piling On Michael Savage

Nice article.

Democracy 101

It's good to stop and remind ourselves every now and then what some of the definitions 4:41 p.m. EDT
Pentagon Bombshell: U.S. Uncovers WMD Document 'Mother Lode'

The Pentagon's chief weapons inspector David Kay has uncovered what is being described as a "mother lode" of documents in Iraq detailing Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction program.

"I've already seen enough to convince me," said Kay, a former U.N. weapons inspector, in an interview aired Tuesday with "NBC Nightly News" anchorman Tom Brokaw.

"We're finding progress reports. [Iraqi scientists] also got financial rewards from Saddam Hussein by breakthroughs, indicating breakthroughs. They actually took--went to Saddam and said 'We have made this progress.'" the top WMD prober explained. "There are records, there are audiotapes of those interviews which give us that."

"According to Kay, the Iraqis seem to keep documents on even the most damning evidence," said Brokaw.

In assessing the scope of Kay's find, the NBC newsman proclaimed, "This is a mother lode, an estimated seven and a half miles of documents, many of them collected by U.S. military from [Iraq's] official buildings, but many others handed over by Iraqi civilians."

Iraq's WMD files are currently undergoing a painstaking analysis, said Brokaw, who explained, "Many of them [are] handwritten, have to be scanned onto a computer in this small, highly secure facility."

Working with Arabic translators, U.S. weapons experts look for certain clues, including personnel records, foreign purchases and lab results.

The Pentagon's chief weapons prober said he didn't want to go public with details of his find until the case is an indisputable lock. "I know if we can't explain the WMD program of Iraq we lose credibility with regard to other states like Iran, Syria and North Korea," he told NBC.

How long will it take before President Bush is able to reveal what could be smoking gun justification of his decision to make war on Iraq?

"I think we will have a substantial body of evidence before six months," Kay told NBC.

Brokaw ended his report on Kay's find with a clip of Tuesday's comment by Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass.; a move the newsman apparently intended as a reminder to Democrats who continue to carp about the lack of WMD evidence, that they're liable to be humiliated when the full story is known.

"It's a disgrace that the case for war seems to have been based on shoddy intelligence, hyped intelligence, and even false intelligence," Kennedy complained.

Meanwhile back in Baghdad, Kay continues to pour over his treasure trove of WMD documents.

Yet Another Reason to Disband the UN...

... or at least stop funding it.

Thanks to Dave Adams for the heads up on this one.

Typical Left Wing Thinking...

Laws are only for people who don't agree with the Left.

Happy Birthday, Mr. President!

President Ford turns 90 today. But we can't declare that there never were any weapons in Iraq after only a few weeks. Those who do so are stepping into a pile of quicksand on this, because we're going to find more evidence of WMD - and it'll be door-in-face time. You people are so ready to call Bush a liar, but in doing so you'll have to admit that Bill Clinton was a liar - just as we'll have to cite him as credible to make this point. (See speeches below)

One caller charged Colin Powell should go to Iraq and show us the WMD facilities he talked about. Um, do you people think Saddam Hussein could've watched that same briefing and dumped his WMD? Another liberal caller said, "My side isn't denying Saddam had WMD." Au contraire, histoire revisionists. That's your whole mantra now - to the point where you say we can't believe the administration on Iran's nuclear program or even believe the North Koreans on the nukes they themselves told us they have.

Over the weekend, I went back in time and dug up examples of what liberals and President Bush said about Saddam's arsenal of banned weapons. Stephen Hayes' Weekly Standard column lists a bunch of Bill Clinton's statements on this subject. Remember this Clinton quote from 1998: "If Saddam Hussein fails to comply and we fail to act or we take some ambiguous third route, which gives him yet more opportunities to develop his program of weapons of mass destruction...he will then conclude that he can go right on doing more to build an arsenal of devastating destruction.... Some way, someday, I guarantee you he'll use the arsenal." Do any of those words sound like Clinton thinks Saddam doesn't have an arsenal?

More Clinton Quotes - They're All Right Below, Cited for Your Convenience

On December 16, 1998, Bill Clinton ordered a strike "to attack Iraq's nuclear, chemical and biological weapons programs, and its military capacity to threaten their neighbors. Their purpose is to protect the national interests of the United States..." February 17, 1998, Bill Clinton: "Saddam's son-in-law and the chief organizer of Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program, defected to Jordan." Here are just some of the things this defection forced Iraq to admit, as cited by Clinton: "[A]n offensive biological warfare capability, notably 5,000 gallons of botulinum...2,000 gallons of anthrax, 25 biological-filled scud warheads, and 157 aerial bombs."

In President Bush's January 28, 2003 State of the Union he specifically cited the information gathered by the United Nations, the International Atomic Energy Agency and Bill Clinton as a basis for his conclusion that Iraq did indeed have weapons of mass destruction. In my view, Saddam either hid them or destroyed them prior to the end of months of diplomacy and dithering with the UN. Maybe he shipped them out of the country - perhaps to Syria's Bekáa Valley. So if you conclude that Bush, Powell, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz and Cheney lied, you have to add all these other folks into the list.

More from Clinton: "And I might say UNSCOM inspectors believe that Iraq has actually greatly understated its production." Of course, Saddam's son-in-law was killed when he returned to Iraq. Now, I know that everybody on the right said Clinton was using Iraq to distract from his impeachment scandal. You have a point, but screw it. This is what Clinton said, and I think someone should point it out to his supporters who are now out there saying there were never any WMD in Iraq.

Clinton always spoke about Hussein's arsenal as a fact - with none of his characteristic wiggle room or hedging - and of the dictator's determination to build it as a fact. At the time, Democrats from Al Gore to Senator Tom Daschle backed Clinton 100%. So did the United Nations. President Clinton and the UN relied on intelligence information similar to the information relied on by Bush, folks. Yet when it was suggested that Clinton acted out of personal reasons to deflect from his criminal offenses, today's Bush critics dismissed that as "politics." Of course unlike Clinton and the UN, Bush is not a liberal. He took effective steps to destroy Saddam Hussein - and for that, he's attacked.

From Rush's Site Recently...

Dems Raise More From Fat Cats

July 8, 2003

The nine dwarves pursuing the Democratic Party presidential nomination have been relentlessly asserting that the Republican Party is beholden to the wealthy. You've heard this. It's an age-old theory. Well, it turns out that the Democratic Party is the one that's been addicted to the million-dollar contributions from fat cats.

A recent study by the Center for Responsive Politics, which is a nonpartisan campaign finance research team, reveals that the Democratic Party gobbled up an astounding 92% of all individual contributions, totaling $1 million or more during the 2001-2002 election cycle. That is astounding. 92% of all individual contributions totaling a million dollars or more went to Democrats in 2001 and '02. Meanwhile, it was the Republican Party that received 64% of all individual contributions less than $200 per donor.

It boils down to this fact: it's the Republican Party that relies on smaller contributions of less than $200. It's the Democrats who score from all the fat cats.

The President's Critics are Lying

As I foretold in my posting on 7/10, the Left is mounting a huge media campaign designed to discredit the President and undermine Americans' support for him, for the Iraq initiative and the war on terrorism.

HERE is a story that points out the facts of the matter, and is one you'll likely not see on CNN, ABC, NBC, MSNBC or CBS. Read it and keep the facts in mind as the Left begins it's march toward the 2004 elections.

Also, and I know this really pisses the Left off, but, here are some Dennis Miller quotes of late:

-- Denouncing anti-war protesters, Miller described how he puts them into four categories, the second one made up of those who call everyone but Hussein a Hitler:
“The second type you have at these parades seems to be the people who want to mislabel Hitler. Everybody in the world is Hitler. Bush is Hitler, Ashcroft is Hitler, Rumsfeld is Hitler. The only guy who isn't Hitler is the foreign guy with a mustache dropping people who disagree with him into the wood chipper. He's not Hitler.”

-- On the up side of war protesters:
“I'll say this about the war protesters: At least most of them are only putting duct tape across their mouths so I can still tell the rest of them to blow it out their ass.”

-- On the Dixie Chicks:
“Surprisingly, making fun of the President on foreign land in a time of war doesn't seem to play with the NASCAR crowd!”

-- On Peter Arnett:
“How am I supposed to trust the honesty of a reporter that has that bad of a comb-over on top of his head? He's got four hairs left and he's swirling them around...This guy is dangerously close to pulling hair over from another guy's head. Hey guess what Pete? We know you're bald, okay? The outside of your skull is as empty as the inside.”

7 Years Ahead of the Conservative Movement

Last February marked the 7th anniversary of my divorce from the Republican Party. Back then I saw the party as moving too far left. I felt Bush 41 let down the nation and conservatives by raising taxes and not removing Saddam. When Dole was nominated, I began to realize that the Party and I had irreconcilable differences. I went out, after the Iowa Caucuses in 1996 and registered as an Independent. (I supported Alan Keyes candidacy that year)

Finally, the Conservatives are realizing that GW may not be the Conservative they once thought he was.

Now, 7 years later we have THIS from the mainsail of the Conservative Movement, National Review.

My question is: WHAT TOOK THEM SO LONG?

Tell me what you think:

WMD-Gate?

Here we go. Check out what this young man is doing. Read the words below, then checkout his site here.

THE IMPORTANCE OF PREPARING OUR CHILDREN FOR SPIRITUAL WARFARE, by R. Blaine Cohcran

HOW TO IMPACT THE CULTURE AS A FAMILY!

My burden and vision as a man is to prepare students for spiritual warfare in the culture. The premise I operate on is that it's not enough to train our children in the core subjects so they can "get a good SAT score" to "get into a good college" to "get a degree" to "get a good job." This “education as usual” mindset is not working! In fact, 50-70% of the "born again" students that go to a university deny their faith even within weeks and its no wonder when we leave the education of our most precious assets to 40 & 50 year old humanists that have no greater joy than to dash the faith of our children, and make them twice the sons of hell as they are. This is what Jesus said about the educators of His day, which were leading students astray. Sadly, our children aren't even safe in Christian colleges since most of them don't teach a 6-day creation. These schools also fail to integrate the scripture into the different disciplines they offer, even though they claim to.

As a young man I was so bored with school that I hated it. Primarily because there was 99% lecture with testing that basically only required memory regurgitation. Years later, when in full-time ministry, I discovered that I actually love learning! I have been teaching with an emphasis on interaction/dialogue ever since. This is the best environment for learning and equipping students to impact the culture for the glory of God! They need to be involved in their own learning - as most educators would agree!

My observation is that most Christian families are not aware of these issues and that we must forsake our paradigms about “educating” our children and be sure that we are first and foremost approved unto God and not entry requirements to colleges and degrees from their institutions!

I spent months researching all the different worldview "curriculums" out there and since that time I have been putting together an interactive worldview training that can be accomplished in a number of ways but with a limited group of students. There are 18 subjects covering every area of life. These subjects can be tackled on a regular basis or in an extended time frame. This training will give students a solid Christian worldview foundation.

It is time we as families concluded that our commitment to “education as usual” is neither wise nor profitable and change our paradigm. My prayer is that we will see "God's Kingdom come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven" as He intended for us as families.

R. Blaine Cochran
Founder of Tools for Life Ministry

Blaine has been married to Julie for 17 years and they have five children and a dog. They have home schooled for 14 years. Blaine has had the privilege to minister to students and their families for over 20 years. He has worked with more than 1,600 students and adults in the last year in Public Speaking and Christian world view. Tools for Life uses highly interactive training methods to teach and equip families to impact the culture for Christ. These methods require students to step out of their comfort zone and take faith building risks that will equip them for being salt and light in this pagan culture.
